R u boxed up? BREAK FREE!

UP-MCO is breaking free! In celebration of the organization's eleventh anniversary, MCOers will be rowing out of the mainstream and will be making out-of-the-box stints never done before.

Well...sort of. For this academic year, UP-MCO has prepared a roster of innovative, educational, and breakthrough activities to suit the more relevant needs of its members and the studentry at present.

Org events like academic symposia, film showing, video production festival, and PSA-making contest are now marked on the MCO calendar. It's definitely gonna be an exciting and hectic year for our happy and shiny people.

By the way, has one ever heard of UBE? Not the food crop, but the so-called Ultimate Bonding Experience that is set to gather the MCOers in one happy hub. MCO values solidarity among its members, so whether it's over a glass of gulaman or a stick of fihsball... this year won't pass up without a single UBE!

Events?

The semester started with a warm MCO welcome for the freshies. In its dedication to FOPC, the organization is presently mothering four blocks of enthusiastic freshmen.

Last June 23 and 30, MCO conducted a Freshie Media Tour for the blocks with a purpose of giving these kids a preliminary taste of the "real world".

Congratulations to UP-MCO for a very successful Major Issue entiltled "Tong Kantang 'to: Understanding the immense popularity of novelty songs in the Pinoy music scene", July 19.

Prof. Georgina Encanto of the CMC Journalism Department lauded the organization for its commitment to the promotion and responsible use of media through critical analysis of novelty songs during the Major Issue symposium on novelty songs, July 19.
